Recently got to catch up with my girl Tomi. Tomi and I met when we were working at Karmaloop. I always admired her bold style. I swear to god the girl looks totally different every day, but she’s got this crazy knack for detail, so she pulls off every look she goes for. It’s very cool and very inspiring to be around.
I was stoked to learn she has since launched a brand, and wanted to style a shoot for the blog with some of her items. Here is the work from our first shoot, which she styled AND shot (girl is crazy talented, I’m telling you). The following is her designer statement with the info for her site and custom orders.
Designer Statement:I’m Tomi, just a Creator with ambition to make my vision see reality. I have been designing independently for three years and have been a skilled Fashion Stylist and Fashion Illustrator for several. I recently obtained my degree for Fashion Design & Textile Sciences at Bay State College in the Greater Boston Area. I was also interviewed by Boston Globe reporter, Christopher Muther, on behalf of ‘My Instagram Style’ and the brand I have created, Saváge. This interview can be viewed at the Boston Globe website. Saváge, can solely be looked at through the ‘Eye of the Beholder’ that entail three components; Risk, Elegance, & Variety intertwined into the root of the Saváge brand. Saváge is the savage within, the risk that should have been taken. This risk is held as the universal class precedence of the brand that speaks volumes, in what Saváge represents, which exudes the best version of the client where they reveal, with courage, their eccentric self.
